JQuery

JQuery is a javascript framework, created initially by John Resig. Its aim is to simplify the way in which HTML documents interact, the way the DOM tree is manipulated, the way events are handled and the development of animations and AJAX functionality is added to the website. It was first released on January 14th 2006 at the BarCamp NYC.

Like some other libraries, JQuery offers a series of functionalities based on Javascript that otherwise would require a lot more coding. Thus getting more things done in a lot less time.

Microsoft and Nokia announced that they will include this library on their platforms. Microsoft is adding it on its IDE Visual Studio2 and will use it along with its other frameworks ASP.NET AJAX and ASP.NET MVC, while Nokia is integrating it on its platform Web Run-Time.
